Hell yeah, the obscure fact that Mario actually served as an infantry man & bomber in either the US Army or Marines before getting discharged and moving back to New York with Luigi to become carpenters / construction workers, then fighting Donkey Kong I/Cranky Kong on one of the construction sites, and after saving Pauline and locking DK up in a cage, DK Jr. comes to the rescue after Mario and Luigi try to ship DK out to a overseas jungle in South America and after Jr. rescues him, they shrug and head on back home then following their dad's footsteps as plumbers and do that for a few years until down in the sewers, Koopa Troop baddies come out the warp pipe system and they discover the OmniPipe that warps em to the magical Mushroom Kingdom and the rest's history
